Dudley Peacock (M&A Advisor and Activist Investor)

Dudley has focussed his entire career in growing and developing his business skills through diligent study, research and working on several business ventures of his own as well as business consulting clients. A career spanning almost 25 years across many industries gives Dudley a trained eye and the experience needed to quickly identify critical issues facing any organisation as well as provide practical fixes either for growth, strategic direction, M&A or post transaction integration.

Dudley was born in South Africa and has worked across Africa, Middle East and Europe. Clients benefit from his deep understanding of a cross section of cultures and geographic constraints that exist in conducting business locally or across borders.

Michael McGrath (CEO)

Michael started in business at age 23 and has spent more than 25 years starting, building, buying and selling a number of private companies. He led his first venture, a leisure retail company, through start-up, raising venture capital, significant growth, and then through an exit to the market leader in 1992 (at the age of 28). Since then he has founded, acquired, managed and sold companies in varying market sectors, sometimes being engaged to turn around businesses in distress.

Originally from the UK, Michael has worked in both Hong Kong and China developing international sales operations in Europe, US and Asia, and brings industry experience including food, manufacturing, recruitment, publishing, retail and distribution.

Michael established the Oasis Sydney office in 2009. He has since led a wide range of transactions and currently advises more than 10 private company boards on the subject of creating as well as unlocking value.

Hugh Platt-Hepworth (Corporate Advisor)

Hugh has a Masters of Business in Finance, and has gained wide experience in his career to date, which includes successfully establishing a multisite storage operation, import/export sales and stockbroking. At Oasis Hugh’s sector focus is Engineering, Food & Beverage, Mining Services and IT.

Warwick Pearce (Corporate Advisor)

Warwick has trained and worked as both a lawyer and chartered accountant and has worked in a variety of entrepreneurially led private companies’ over 20 years.  Warwick, working within several growth companies, assisted in not only their establishment and expansion but then helped with their listing on the ASX. Warwick has significant experience of the growing pains and challenges faced by owners. He brings significant experience in the M&A world and is based in the Oasis Sydney office. Warwick’s sector focus is: medical device, manufacturing, healthcare, mining, resources (Oil & Gas), digital publishing, IT and services.

Matthew Smith (Research and Technology Manager)

Matthew began his technology career in stock control and logistics, with a focus on improving the experience for customers. In the last ten years he has become a specialist in digital operations and marketing building an impressive suite of expertise in many major IT software packages and systems. Matthew manages Oasis Australasia’s technology and systems, ensuring fast, secure and reliable system management including the collection and dissemination of real time data as well as providing important research resources to the team.

Patrick Flanagan (Director)

Patrick is a non-executive director with Oasis and has worked closely with Oasis management since 2010 in a wide range of transaction and advisory work. Patrick has over 25 years’ experience in professional services roles advising businesses of all sizes. Currently a partner and director of RSM Bird Cameron, Patrick has extensive experience in transaction advisory services, corporate structuring, compliance, and profitability improvement strategies. At Bird Cameron he specialises in small to medium enterprises.

Patrick has previously worked with Guild Accountants, BTH Group, KPMG and Arthur Andersen, servicing a broad range of blue chip and SME clients.

Lyn Austen

Lyn has worked in corporate finance for most of his life, originally starting as a broker before moving into mainstream M&A with a major public company, where he led a number of high profile UK transactions. He holds a degree in Business Studies and enjoys a particular interest in corporate work within the B2B and support services sectors. Lyn joined Oasis in 2006 and is based in Reading.

Richard Baker

Richard, a Chartered Engineer, has worked in industry since leaving business school in 1969. He has held the positions of Chairman, CEO or executive board member of a number of public and privately owned businesses gaining extensive UK and international experience. He has extended his industry experience assisting growing businesses with finance raising and practical advice in a wide range of markets including metals, public works construction, computer learning, book wholesaling, military textiles, service centre, electronics and dairy equipment. Living in South Devon, he is based at our Falmouth office.

Nicholas Bunn

Nick began his career as an analyst at a stockbroker within an investment bank in 1986, becoming a Member (now Fellow) of The Securities Institute in 1989. Between 1990 and 1999 he worked in the international debt capital markets, trading and issuing bonds. He then successfully completed an MBA specialising in Finance at CASS Business School in London before joining Oasis Europe in 2001. Nick has extensive experience of M&A work.

Steve Fernback

Steve is a Chartered Certified Accountant, who has in the last 25 years held the position of Finance Director in Retail, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing and Property Search businesses. Steve has handled stock market flotations, MBO’s, Private Equity inward investments, fund raisings and company sales. He has public company experience but has worked mainly in entrepreneurially led private businesses. He played a lead role in the trade sale of his last company and understands from a practical point of view the expectations and needs of buyers and business owners.

Catherine O’Riordan

Catherine has a Business Studies degree and following work in research and analysis with Arthur Andersen joined Oasis Europe in 1999.  She manages transactions in the transport, media and business services sectors as well as co-ordinating the activities of the UK and Australian offices of Oasis Europe.

John Willcox-Jones

John has worked in industry since 1972 holding management positions in sectors as diverse as building products, retail furnishing and horticultural machinery. During the early 1980s he was actively involved in the City advising companies on behalf of a number of stockbrokers and issuing houses in connection with stock market flotation’s and on the board of a number of public companies. He relinquished these appointments in 1984 to specialise in mergers and acquisitions work. He regularly lectures on Corporate Finance matters throughout the UK as well as in Europe and North America.

James Willcox-Jones

James has had extensive experience of the Third Sector both in the UK and India with expertise in building relationships and partnerships with major commercial organisations, the banking sector and individual high net worth philanthropists.  Whilst James has not cut all ties with the charity world (he is a trustee of Future Hope, India) he is bringing the relationship and negotiation skills he has gained over the last 10 years to the world of mergers and acquisitions.  James is based in our London office and is currently working on assignments in the travel and professional services sectors.
